John works as a Senior Talent Consultant within the TalentRise Executive Search division. Leveraging more than 15 years of comprehensive recruiting experience, John blends an intimate knowledge of the search business with strategic insight into the labor market to help clients attract high-quality leadership talent. He primarily focuses his efforts on sectors such as private equity and venture capital, startups, technology, and manufacturing.
Passionate about helping companies bridge the gap between their business and people strategies, John is well-equipped to provide strategic guidance in recruiting, hiring, and organizational development. While at TalentRise, his most common placements have been with Director, Vice President, and C-level roles including CEO, CFO, CHRO, and CCO positions. As a testament to his exceptional search prowess, John has filled 98.3% of his executive placements in under 90 days. He recently completed the Predictive Index Talent Optimization Consultant Certification, which allows him to provide the rigor of data to enhance clients’ talent strategy and decision-making.
Before joining the TalentRise team, John was an Executive Search Partner in DHR International’s Jobplex private equity practice. In this role, he was responsible for executing leadership searches. John had previously forged a successful career in corporate recruiting at General Growth Properties and CNA Insurance. In 2009, John created Connecting Insights—an interviewing and professional networking training consultancy. In 2017, he co-founded Memory Farm—a farm-based day center for seniors living with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease.
After receiving his undergraduate degree in organizational psychology from DePaul University, John went on to earn his Master’s degree from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. He has also co-authored three books—the most recent being “Just Ask: Why Seeking Support is Your Greatest Strength.” John currently resides in Austin, Texas.
