We’re proud to announce the successful completion of our executive search for Habitat for Humanity Buffalo. After a comprehensive search, we’re thrilled to share that Carolynn Welch has been selected as the organization’s new Chief Executive Officer.
Carolynn brings more than two decades of nonprofit leadership experience in community and economic development in Western New York. She most recently served as Executive Director of the Westminster Economic Development Initiative (WEDI), where she led the organization’s strategy, programs, and operations and oversaw the expansion of the West Side Bazaar — a nationally recognized hub for immigrant-owned businesses and community entrepreneurship. During her tenure, she strengthened WEDI’s partnerships while guiding the organization through a period of significant growth.
Earlier in her career, she held leadership roles with Computers for Children and Community Services for Everyone, overseeing programs that expanded access to technology, education, and support services across Western New York.
Interim President of the Board of Directors, Bennie Williams, shared his perspective on this leadership transition:

Carolynn shared her enthusiasm about this new chapter:

In her new role, Carolynn will work closely with Habitat Buffalo’s Board, staff, and regional partners to expand affordable homeownership opportunities, deepen community partnerships, and strengthen the organization’s impact across Western New York.
